threadbare

Threadbare is a single oscillator synthesiser, built and explored by participants in a workshop setting. The instrument was designed to allow young people to construct an analogue synthesiser, then question and develop new performance interfaces. Using conductive thread sewn onto the circuit board, the participants were able to explore innovative ways to perform and interact with the music technology, generating an array of performative scenarios and resulting in wearable technologies and experimental performances. The workshop formed a part of the Leicester Media Festival, May 2016 and was funded by De Montfort University.
